One of Fonterra's most senior executives has confirmed that he wants to represent National in the Bay of Plenty electorate.
Todd Muller, an executive at Fonterra Co-operative Group, announced this morning that he would put his name forward for selection.
He has been a National Party member for 25 years and worked under former Prime Minister Jim Bolger.
Mr Muller grew up in the Bay of Plenty and has previously held senior roles at agricultural companies Zespri and Apata.
The seat is being vacated by Cabinet Minister Tony Ryall, who has been MP for the Eastern Cape, Eastern Bay of Plenty and Bay of Plenty since 1990.
