Bay of Plenty-based honey and health products company Comvita has reported a net after tax loss of $3.3 million on sales of $59.7 million for the six months to September 2014, compared to a reported net after tax loss of $0.8 million and sales of $43.4 million for the same period last year.
As signalled in September, Comvita is forecasting full year sales of $142.5 million, a 24 per cent increase on the previous year, and a net profit after tax of $9.5 million, a 25 per cent increase from $7.6 million in the prior year.
Comvita earlier this year announced a one for five renounceable rights issue, which aims to raise up to $24.4 million from existing shareholders. The results of the rights issue are expected to be available by the end of next week.
