Getting doused in coloured dust raised $28,000 for charity at Tauranga's first Colour Dash.
Almost 2000 entrants walked or ran around the Tauranga Racecourse yesterday at their own speed and were doused in coloured dust as they went.
Fifty per cent of the registration fees from the event were donated to Ronald McDonald house. Zak Lassey took his daughters Olivia, 8, and Tia, 10, to the event for a bit of fun.
"It's a fantastic event, something new. The kids have had a ball."
Tia, who's face was covered in the dust, said it tasted powdery.
Tauranga's Geerling family, who have made use of Ronald McDonald house, received the cheque on behalf of the charity.
