If you drink and drive this Christmas there is a high chance you will get caught.
That is the message from police and road safety co-ordinator Megan Jolly in the lead up to the pre-Christmas party season.
Police Sergeant Warren Shaw said police will have an increased presence over the next few weeks. They will be visiting local businesses and walking through licensed premises talking to patrons.
Police check points will also be carried out on both highways and rural roads.
Road Safety Co-ordinator Megan Jolly says that there are many things that hosts can do to make their social gatherings safe ones. "Hosts should ensure non-alcoholic drinks and plenty of food are readily available and make it their business to find out just how people are getting home," she said.
