More than 100 eager primary school students will mark the first of a series of stream clean-ups in Tauranga today.
The students are expected to muck in to collect rubbish along the Takitimu Drive reserves from the Domain to as far as the Archery Park from 11am as part of the Tauranga City Council and Bay of Plenty Regional Council's Tauranga Stream and Estuary Clean-up Programme.
Children taking part will be from Pillans Point and Matapihi Schools and are expected to celebrate their efforts with a barbecue lunch at the Domain afterward.
If you would like to join in or find out more information, it is available at the Tauranga Stream and Estuary Clean-up Programme's Facebook page.
