A car has crashed and gone down a bank in Oropi.

Emergency services are at the scene on Warner Rd, where a car has collided with another before crashing down a bank estimated to be at least a 20m drop.

Police, St John ambulance staff and firefighters were called to the crash just before 5pm.

A reporter at the scene said the was road partially blocked off by police and there were many bystanders lining the road.

Some people were being treated by ambulance staff, she said.

The bank appeared to have been a 20m - 25m drop from the roadside, she said.
