Car crashes into occupied Tauranga bus shelter

Police are at the scene where a car has crashed into an occupied bus shelter in central Tauranga.

No one is believed to be seriously hurt in the Cameron Rd incident, which was reported to police at 3.06pm.

A police media spokeswoman said it appeared a vehicle crashed into the bus shelter, showering a person inside in broken glass.

Ambulance officers were called but it did not appear that anyone was seriously injured, she said.

The crash happened outside Countdown supermarket, between 12th Ave and 13th Ave.
