A car has crashed through a guardrail and down a bank on Pyes Pa Rd.

A police spokeswoman said it appeared the driver was out of the vehicle and not injured.

She said police were called about the incident at 5.55pm on Friday.

The location was between Kennedy Rd and Takitimu Drive.

It's not the first time a car has crashed down the same bank.

In August a car wound up on its roof at the bottom of the bank, and residents in the area said there had been other crashes.

"Each accident the Armco gets shorter," Lakes resident Matthew Gill said. "It's terrible."

"They need to fix that."
