Emergency services attended a number of fire-related calls overnight, included a fully involved car on fire in Pāpāmoa
A Northern Fire Communications shift manager said that the Te Puke Fire Brigade was called to a car fire in Chestnut Lane in Pāpāmoa just after 9pm last night.
The spokesman said when the brigade arrived they found an unoccupied station wagon with no one around fully-involved in fire and after putting the fire out the police were notified.
Mount Maunganui Fire Brigade was also called to Kahira Crescent in Pāpāmoa Beach at 8.27pm last night after a report of dishwasher fire.
There was some smoke in the house, no other signs of fire, and after investigating the incident there was no further action by the brigade, the fire spokesman said.
