Three cruise ships have brought in more than 4000 visitors to the Bay this morning.
Voyager of the Seas, Seabourn Odyssey and Seven Seas Mariner are lined up along the Port of Tauranga as their passengers are welcomed into Pilot Bay and head off for a day of adventure.
Voyager of the Seas is the biggest carrying more than 3100 guests, with the Seven Seas Mariner carrying 700 guests and the Seabourn Odyssey only carrying 450 guests.
Many were opting to head to Rotorua to experience the culture, while Hobbit fans were heading to Hobbiton in Matamata.
Those who were staying locally chose to browse the shops, explore the Mount, or jump on one of the local tour buses.
