The first quarter of 2016 has seen the highest value of building consents issued since 2004.
Figures released by Priority One show both Tauranga City Council and Western Bay of Plenty District Council had continued successfully after March, which saw the highest value of building consents issued by the district council than in any other month since records began in 2003.
Tauranga City Council recorded $243.6 million in consents issued for the four month period, 45 per cent more than the previous high in 2015.
Western Bay issued $76.1 million in consents, 36 per cent more than the previous high in 2007.
Consents for the combined sub-region were valued at $319.7 million for the four month period, 49 per cent more than the previous high recorded in 2015.
