The Black Sticks have taken apart a suddenly outmatched Japan side 5-1 in a clinical display at the Tauranga Hockey Centre.
The home side seized control from the start, enjoying mountains of possession as Japan's
defenders and midfielders remained content to sit behind the ball.
The home nation's fifth goal may have been their best. Hugo Inglis, who by this stage was running riot, placed a beautiful reverse slash into the path of the flying Jenness who
had beaten his man round the corner at the far post.
Black Sticks head coach Colin Batch said it was pleasing to finish with a clear series win.
"We're very pleased with the series, we learnt a lot. To continue our progression on a positive note tonight is pleasing,'' Batch said.
