Beach 5s Rugby off after Sevens clash

Beach 5s NZ event cancelled.

Due to a lack of referees available to cover the matches set down for tomorrow (Saturday), the Beach 5s NZ rugby tournament has been postponed.

All the available referees in Bay of Plenty are on duty at the Bayleys National Sevens at Rotorua on Saturday and Sunday.

Tournament organiser Melita Martorana says she is gutted as 13 teams had entered.

The event will be rescheduled in late February.
