Bay of Plenty police will feature on a new television series airing for the first time tonight.
Water Patrol follows the work of maritime units, police divers and other police staff on New Zealand's waterways.
The camera crew spent a number of weeks filming in the Bay of Plenty and some water tragedies occurred during their time.
Over the official summer period the Bay recorded eight drownings.
The series is produced by the same company that produces Police Ten-7 and can be viewed at 8pm on TV One each Tuesday from tonight.
