Tauranga's Bay of Plenty Regional Council offices will be closed to the public until Monday after a water pipe burst in the building.
The council's customer contact manager Rachael Burgess said the pipe burst on Level 3 of Regional House on Elizabeth St on Sunday, damaging the electrical service boards on all floors.
"The water has also leaked down the stairwell and into the lift shafts. There was a small amount of carpet that got wet and walls that were near the water pipe got wet but there is no damage to equipment or office areas.
"The relevant contractors have repaired the pipe and we are now working to restore affected services," Burgess said.
The customer service centre at Regional House is closed this week, however, members of the public were able to contact their internal call centre for assistance on 0800 884 880.
