A Te Puke couple have won second place in the farm manager contest at the Bay of Plenty Dairy Industry Awards tonight, with a Tauranga man picking up third place.
The winners were announced at the region's awards dinner at Awakeri Events Centre.
The Te Puke contract milkers Luther and Jessica Siemelink won $4710 in prizes for second place and Tauranga contract milker Tony Baker won $3640 in prizes for third place.
The three farmers received the following merit awards in the farm manager section:
• The Wrangler Best Livestock Award - Jessica & Luther Siemelink
• Westpac Financial Planning and Management Award - Jessica & Luther Siemelink
• Fonterra Best Practice Award - Tony Baker
• RD1 Farm Management Award - Tony Baker
