Red powder mailed to Western Bay District Council with a threatening note yesterday has been found to be harmless.

Two staff members were working at the information services section of the council's head office on Cameron Rd yesterday morning when they opened an envelope sent through the mail containing red powder and a threatening note.
Police district communications manager Kim Perks said after police tested the substance it was "not deemed harmful."
"Police can confirm that the substance has been tested and is not deemed harmful. For investigative reasons police will not be disclosing the nature of the substance."
