The Ballance Farm Environment Awards are being held tonight in the Mount.
The awards recognise and celebrate good farm practices which promotes sustainable land management through an annual awards programme which is now run in 10 regions throughout New Zealand.
All entrants go through a judging process which considers the entire environment a farm operates within, with particular consideration to: sustainable profitability, environmental awareness, good business practices and social and community responsibility.
