Tauranga Art Gallery chairwoman Phillida Perry has stepped down.
She will be succeeded by Peter Anderson.
Ms Perry has been the chairwoman since January 2013 and a trustee for more than ten years.
Ms Perry said she would always be a strong supporter of the arts, but was looking forward to spending more time with her family, husband George Savill and their three young daughters.
The incoming chairman, Mr Anderson, is kaumatua of Te Aupouri iwi, Te Tai Tokerau and has a wealth of knowledge of governance and business operations.
Her resignation comes about three months after director Penelope Jackson left. Ms Jackson announced her resignation in December last year.
