The armed offenders squad is involved in executing a search warrant at a Bureta address in Tauranga tonight.
A police spokeswoman said the pre-planned operation, which began at 7.45pm, involved executing a search warrant relating to an alleged historic offence.
Due to any potential risk armed offenders squad members were called in, she said.
