Bay of Plenty Times staff and foodbank volunteers will hit the streets this afternoon in the second of three can drives to collect donations for the 2014 Bay of Plenty Times Christmas Appeal for the Tauranga Community Foodbank.
About 20 volunteers wearing blue Bay of Plenty Times T-shirts or foodbank badges will knock on doors throughout Bellevue asking for donations of food or personal hygiene products.
The volunteers will knock on doors along Bellevue Rd, Millers Place, Warwick Place, Upland St, Brookfield Tce, Seymour Place and Windsor Rd between 5.30pm and 7.30pm.
This year's can drive in Greerton saw 424 items collected.
If you will not be home or do not wish to be disturbed but would like to donate, please leave the food in a bag on your doorstep.
