Ms Gautier would do well to remember that the modern state of Israel is in fact an artificially created one. It also just happens to be surrounded by Arab states, something that is overlooked by those who seek to impose their own "moral" values on a blatant act of provocation.
Similarly, Mr Vannopen should remember two key points; firstly that America has a long track record of supporting terrorist states and secondly that Israel manages to kill vastly more Palestinians than are ever killed by Palestinian action.
If by, "rampant anti-Semitism" he mean criticism of a rogue state that itself has carried out many disproportionate acts of naked aggression, then it must be a catch-all phrase devoid of meaning.
The main point to remember is that Israel is a puppet state, created to protect American interests.
I would recommend that anyone under any illusions about this relationship should look at the shameful way both countries have consistently vetoed any resolutions against human rights violations around the world.
It is heartening to know that within Israel there are those who hold true to humanitarian principles, while others simple ignore inconvenient facts.
