Broods are destined for pop success.

Broods are destined for pop success.

Brother-and-sister duo Georgia and Caleb Nott are said to be destined for pop success and on the back of this EP you can see why.

The Kiwi pair, originally from Nelson, are treading a similar electro-pop path to that paved by Lorde over the past year - they've also been working with producer Joel Little - but they have a sound of their own.

In fact, they probably owe as much to Ladyhawke's sound as they do Lorde's.

EP opener Never Gonna Change is the highlight - its lush electronica and spare beats bubbling under Georgia's silky, breathy vocals.

But the tandem vocal approach on Pretty Thing is also all kinds of wonderful.

As a six-track EP this is just a taste, but already Broods are up there with the best exponents of electronic pop.
