What is the shocking secret that Adaline (Blake Lively) must reveal to Ellis (Michiel Huisman), the man she loves?

What is the shocking secret that Adaline (Blake Lively) must reveal to Ellis (Michiel Huisman), the man she loves?

If you want to go on a journey, one that's almost impossible to believe, then join Adaline and walk a mile in her shoes.

Age of Adaline is an adult fantasy somewhat along the lines of A Winter's Tale. While the premise that created Adaline is unusual, her story and the difficulties she faces make for a wonderful narrative.

Adaline (Blake Lively) is an ordinary young woman who had an extraordinary thing happen to her.

After crashing her car into a lake on a snowy night, she dies. A bolt of lightning from above revives her but changes her makeup so that she will never age another day.

So, as she makes her way through the war years and the Depression, she doesn't age a day while her family and friends around her get older.

In order to keep her secret safe, Adaline stops herself from falling in love or putting down roots in any one place for too long.

She resolutely stays on the move and her only constant is her daughter, Flemming (Ellen Burstyn).

That is until she meets Ellis (Michiel Huisman).

Despite trying to stay clear of him and maintain her shroud of secrecy, she cannot help falling in love with him.

If she wants a future with him, she must share her secret and make him aware that they will never grow old together.

But a shocking secret from her past confronts her and Adaline must come to terms with what she did before she can move forward.

Ultimately, she makes decisions that allow her to go full circle and embrace a full life.

The premise of Age of Adaline is unbelievable but, if you leave your cynicism at the door you will find an enchanting story that will more than entertain.
