Kenya's Finance Minister, Uhuru Kenyatta, has stepped down but retained his role as Deputy Prime Minister after being charged with crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court for his alleged role in the violence that consumed the country after the last elections.
Francis Muthaura, the powerful head of Kenya's civil service, was also charged by the ICC on Tuesday. Higher Education Minister William Ruto and radio presenter Joshua Arup Sang also face trial on related charges at The Hague.
