HAGATNA, Guam (AP) Guam Gov. Eddie Calvo is ordering $20 million in tax refunds to be released to taxpayers.
Pacific Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1eNIkS1 ) Calvo made the order Wednesday local time after a special legislative session to discuss the funds.
The funds include $15 million in Section 30 funds and $5 million in regular collection.
Section 30 funds are reimbursements from the federal government for unpaid income taxes of military members living in Guam.
Lawmakers did not vote on bills to appropriate the funds, prompting Calvo's office to act by itself.
