The Waverley Racing Club made history at their AGM this week by voting for their first female committee member in 141 years.
Jaimee-Lee Lupton received the honour on Thursday night.
While the first woman, Lupton's bloodline runs strong in Waverley racing as she is the granddaughter of famous trainer Snow Lupton, who trained Kiwi on the farm to win the 1983 Melbourne Cup - coming from the back at the final turn at Flemington to win racing's greatest trophy.
Jaimee-Lee Lupton also trains race horses at the Waverley course and has great knowledge and experience in the racing industry.
A keen sportswoman, she also dabbled in jetsprint racing, being the navigator for Waitotara's Duncan Wilson in the Group A class of the national series.
