It was a comfortable win for the Wanganui men's cricket side in their first pre-season match against Naenae Old Boys on Saturday.
Bowling first, Wanganui managed to restrict the Wellington premier club side to 149/7 from their 40 overs with Travis Bartles and Bryant Galpin picking up two wickets each in the match played at City College. At one stage the visitors were 73/5.
But despite missing some regular players, Wanganui cruised in reply with Nick Harding and Central Districts' batsmen Ben Smith (both 41) top scoring.
The home side ran down Naenae's total with over four overs to spare.
Wanganui has a second warm-up fixture next week against Wellington City ahead of the Chapple Cup later this month.
