A woman could be facing prison after furiously driving into a metal fence bordering the grounds of Whanganui Intermediate School (WIS).
Jackie Lamb was speeding on St Hill St in Whanganui on November 19 when she tried to turn right on to Dublin St but instead drove straight into a metal fence and into the school grounds.
The explanation she gave police was that she was angry and driving too fast to brake in time for the corner. A breath alcohol test showed that Lamb had been drinking.
Lamb pleaded guilty to driving in a dangerous manner and driving with excess breath alcohol when she appeared in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
Judge Philip Crayton convicted Lamb and remanded her for sentencing in Taihape on March 12.
