The quality of Whanganui's Jubilee Stadium was hit for competitors in the 2018 New Zealand Roller Sports Artistic Championships.

Event manager Michelle O'Doherty said about 200 skaters from around New Zealand, and one from Australia, competed in four disciplines in the championships, held on July 17-22.

"It went really well and everyone really enjoyed the stadium - that was a big high for everyone," O'Doherty said.

"We had two international judges from Australia and they were very impressed with everyone's ability and the quality here in New Zealand."

The competitors ranged in age from 7 to early 70s, O'Doherty said. They competed in figure skating, free skating (jumps and spins), dance and group events.
