A Whanganui woman sentenced to 75 hours' community work three years ago for a "low level" cannabis offence has refused to do her time.
So she will serve it in jail instead.
Maata Awhina Rawiri was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment by Judge Dugald Matheson in Whanganui District Court.
"This started off in 2015 as 75 hours' community work for a cannabis offence," Judge Matheson said.
"Then she was prosecuted for a breach and got some more hours and then she's gone AWOL and then she's been remanded for sentence and then she's gone AWOL again."
