Churton School is extending an invitation to the community to join them for their Puanga-Matariki celebration.
The Churton School Puanga "big breakfast" will be held at the school on Thursday morning.
Deputy principal Gary Johnston said the breakfast was an opportunity to celebrate the Maori New Year, and to help form connections within the community.
All the school's pupils and their families are invited to the breakfast, Mr Johnston said.
"We've also invited organisations who are involved with the school, such as Sport Whanganui, Whanganui District Health Board, Whanganui Police education officers, Whanganui Rugby, the library, and a few others.
