A 28-year-old man was treated and discharged from Whanganui Hospital after an assault at a house in Bennett St, Tawhero.

Senior Sergeant Shayne Wainhouse said Whanganui police were keen to hear from anyone who was in the area about 10pm on Saturday, February 24.

"Three males turned up at an address in Bennett St, have gone to the front door and assaulted a 28-year-old male at the property," Mr Wainhouse said.

"They left in a white BMW car. We are interested in hearing from anyone in the area at the time who may have seen the three males or the vehicle leaving the area."

The three males are described as in their 20s but there was no other description.
