"Don't use your brother's name...you don't get very good Christmas presents if you do."
That was the advice Judge Dugald Matheson gave a Whanganui man who used his sibling's name after getting sprung by the police for driving while disqualified.
Matthew Ryan Douglas Davey, 23, pleaded guilty to two charges, driving while disqualified and giving false details as own identification, when he appeared in the Whanganui District Court on Tuesday.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Rachel Willemsen said on August 10 Davey was caught driving while disqualified on Jones St in Whanganui.
"He gave police false details, using his brother's identification."
