In these worrying Covid times, I thought we all needed a bit of a giggle, so here goes.

I unfortunately have a medical condition that qualifies me to gain an exemption from wearing a mask so last month I applied to the nominated organisation for the dispensation.

I received a response explaining that "we are experiencing a high number of emails at this time. Please bare with us and we will respond as soon as possible."

Does this mean that I can only reply if I shed all my clothes? Is this organisation perhaps linked to some nudist colony?

I put this example of ignorance or lack of education in the same basket as the Cadbury ad which assures us that there is a glass and a half in "everyone" rather than "every one" as it is referring to all blocks of chocolate, not all people.

And of course there are the vast number of large jugs spoken about by a multitude of people, including the Prime Minister, when they are in fact speaking about pictures not pitchers.

Triple ACS and, consequently would April 25 be known as Triple AC day?
Think about it, Kiwis.

Are lockdowns the answer?

Russell Eades informs us that the new lockdown didn't have to be inevitable.

"Surely," he says, "it is not too much to expect" that travellers coming to New Zealand show some personal responsibility "by getting fully vaccinated and providing a negative test prior to departure".

That sounds reasonable, except for the issue of fully vaccinated people still catching Covid.

We are being told by the experts, like the CDC and NIH in the US, that fully vaccinated people should still "socially distance" and wear masks in public, that they not only are still catching Covid but are also passing it to others.

The good news is, apparently, that fully vaccinated people should get less sick when they catch the virus.

So, perhaps the further infections entering our country are inevitable. Whether lockdowns are the answer to that is another very good question.
