What: Josh Chandulal-Mackay was born and raised in Whanganui. He takes an active interest in community and civic engagement and was a youth councillor on the Whanganui District Council Youth Committee at age 12. He has a BA in Politics and Psychology from Massey University. In 2016, Josh stood successfully for election as a Whanganui District Councillor.

What: Women of Mercy. Dorothy Day — Co-founder of the Catholic Worker movement, she printed newspapers, provided soup kitchens and houses of hospitality. She lived out the Works of Mercy, feeding the hungry, visiting the imprisoned, educating the needy and challenging the unjust. Thea Bowman — A Black American, Thea reclaimed her musical history, affirming the Black identity and teaching Black Catholic Studies at American Universities. She believed that song is sacramental; as we hear it or sing, we feel its healing.
