Six Whanganui organisations have received a total of more than $191,000 in the latest round of New Zealand Community Trust grants.
In the December funding round, Kai Iwi School received $5000 towards refurbishing the school pool. The money is for the fibreglass shell of the interior surface.
Another school to benefit is Whanganui High School which has been allocated $25,000 for travel and accommodation for various sporting codes.
Wanganui Enterprises Trust was awarded $6000 which will contribute to the salary of a tutor for its BE READY programme. The organisation provides rehabilitation, training and employment for people living with disabilities.
Sports also got a look in with the Wanganui Rugby Football Union scooping $80,000 towards the salaries of two rugby development officers.
