A blustery southerly wind and cooler temperatures aren't enough to deter some hardy souls from making the most of the newly-opened - and unheated - Whanganui East pool.
After two months of refurbishment work to fix leaks and other issues, the pool opened for the summer season on Wednesday, December 27.
Despite a significant drop in air temperature on Thursday, there were several groups enjoying the pools, and showing off their style on the diving board, in the early afternoon.
During the school holidays, the Whanganui East pool is open 11am-6pm Monday to Thursday, 11am-5pm Friday to Sunday and midday-5pm on public holidays.
