Work on the section of Te Tuaiwi shared pathway between Guyton and Ridgway Sts is on track to be completed by Anzac Day.
Whanganui District Council senior roading engineer Rui Leitao said work on the Ingestre St to Guyton St section will start in April and is expected to be finished by June. Traffic signals in the area will be upgraded as part of the project.
Work on the section of pathway from Ridgway St to Taupo Quay and along Taupo Quay to the Whanganui City Bridge will include installing traffic signals at the St Hill St/Taupo Quay intersection by July.
Next financial year a raised platform will be built on the road at the St Hill St/Maria Pl intersection. The platform will be similar to the one in Watt St and forms part of the link between Queens Park and Cooks Gardens.
