Whanganui's BNZ will be Closed for Good on Wednesday, August 23, with staff heading out into the community to work on three projects.
They are among more than 3000 BNZ staff throughout New Zealand who will spend the day helping in their communities.
"Community groups do some amazing work throughout New Zealand and we take real pleasure in being able to give back in this small way, whether it's by picking up a paint brush, planting native trees, providing budgeting advice or running financial literacy workshops," BNZ CEO Anthony Healy said.
In Whanganui BNZ staff will be building and planting a community bike and skills track for Whanganui Mountain Bike Club, gardening at the Mt St Joseph orchard and delivering financial literacy sessions at St John's Hill School.
Essential staff, including call centre staff, will still be working for urgent services and all online and mobile banking services will be available.
