A website has been set up so Wanganui people can have their say on the future of psychoactive substances in the district.
Wanganui District Council approved its draft Local Approved Products Policy in July, and is currently receiving public submissions on the policy.
The submissions website, www.upinsmoke.org.nz has been set up by Maori development organisation Nga Tai o te Awa. Community action coordinator Julie Herewini said it was important the community had a say.
"We can be sure that those that manufacture, sell, and support legal highs will have their say," Ms Herewini said.
The website provides information on psychoactive substances and on LAPP, as well as a submission form. It provides options for submitters to tick if they agree, such as the hours and days psychoactive substances can be sold, the areas of town where they can be sold, and other limitations.
