Wanganui Ratepayers Association chairman Dave Hill.

Wanganui Ratepayers Association chairman Dave Hill.

The Wanganui Ratepayers Association will hold public forums to get issues on the table ahead of next year's Whanganui District Council elections.

The Wanganui Ratepayers Association board met this month and several issues were raised including what the cost of Whanganui and Partners' attempt to develop a "regional brand story" through a series of workshops might be.

The association expected it would cost thousands and was a waste of money so soon after the council developed its "Whanganui - all you need (and then some )" brand which is said "obviously" hasn't delivered.

Hill said the board also discussed the cost of the St Hill St shared pathway and concerns that there was potential for accidents between cyclists and pedestrians.

With council elections to be held next year the Ratepayers Association plans to hold public forums where people will be welcome to provide feedback and views on council issues.
