The average asking price for a Wanganui house is almost $240,000.
Trade Me's Property Price Index showed the average asking price during the three months to February was $239,450 - a 23.9 per cent increase on the same quarter last year.
Home buyers were looking at an average asking priceof $150,000 for a small house (1-2 bedrooms) in the February 2015 quarter, while the average asking price for a medium-sized house (3-4 bedrooms) was $252,250. The average asking price for a large house (5-plus bedrooms) was $420,000.
Real Estate Institute data showed 55 houses were sold in Wanganui last month - an increase of 18 from January but six fewer than February last year.
