A traditional Vietnamese massage therapist has opened Whanganui's newest nail care and spa salon.

Anna Wilsher and her husband Len have set up Victoria Nails at 61a Victoria Ave. Anna Wilsher, who is a qualified massage therapist, has extensive experience in New Zealand and Australia and Vietnam. She employs two qualified beauty and massage therapists.

"I do sports massage, deep tissue and remedial massage, pregnancy massage and hot stone massage," Wilsher said.

"I spent nine years working in Australia in a sports centre and on riverboats where clients could include a spa package with their cruise.

"I also did nails in Vietnam and trained as a nail technician in Wellington."

Victoria Nails offers a range of massage options, including a foot massage with back massage chair. They also do manicures, pedicures, waxing, gel/shellac nails, extensions, infills, nail art and other nail services.

"We use top-of-the range nail products which I can totally recommend," Wilsher said.

"We opened on April 23 and it's going really well. Our appointments were fully booked for the first week."
