Without a doubt after watching the much touted documentary The Real Camilla; HRH The Duchess of Cornwall on TV One, I am convinced her and Prince Charles really are a match made in heaven.

But to me they are both exceedingly dull.

The world today still has millions of avid and adoring Princess Diana fans which of course means Duchess Camilla is not a popular or loved gel in many quarters.

However, this doco showed us how the Duchess is kind to little children, throws good afternoon party tea with tiny cakes and chats beautifully to commoners.

And the Duchess is a perfectionist, taking the understudy royal role with much gravitas -
always treading those few deferential steps behind her husband Prince Charles, the future king.

Of course Camilla hasn't a glimmer of Diana's glamour. A fact that matters to royal lovers.
I feel for Camilla (sort of) in that she will spend the rest of her royal days in Diana's shadow.

Just when the royal family thought most of the Diana angst had subsided it roared back in full flora-tributed force on the 20th anniversary of Diana's death last year, a day that will always remain one of those "where were you that day".

I have to admit that describing (several times throughout this doco) the Camilla and Charles story as one of the greatest love stories in history was stretching credulity a bit far for me.

Yes they adored each other from the kick-off at the zenith of the 1970s in-crowd gatherings in London. It was interesting though getting a ''rare glimpse" of Camilla and her good works.

She was filmed throughout her 70th birthday year with clips in the UK, on tour overseas and on rainy walks in Scotland with her dogs.

But no I was not deeply fascinated. I found it rather ho-hum.

She's certainly a nice old gel and he's a jolly old chap but love story of the century? Now that's really pushing it.

Camilla is the good old stick who landed the probable future king of England. So go gel you did it.

And though not everyone loves you, the "family firm'' will keep you glittering and comfy for the rest of your natural.
