A truck jack-knifed on State Highway 3 near the South Taranaki town of Kakaramea on Sunday evening.
The accident happened about 9.20pm, a police spokesperson said.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
The highway was blocked for several hours after the accident, but open again by the following morning.
