Part of Duncan St in Whanganui was closed on Monday morning after a truck brought down a power pole.
Whanganui Police senior sergeant Shayne Wainhouse said emergency services and Powerco were called to Duncan St, near the intersection with Moana St, at 9.15am.
A large truck travelling from the shopping centre appeared to have caught overhead powerlines and brought down a pole, resulting in powerlines falling across the road.
Mr Wainhouse said it appeared that the power pole landed on a parked car. An ambulance attended but there were no injuries.
