Trade Me listings for Whanganui jobs are down more than 12 per cent, but one recruiter remains optimistic about the job market.
Listings for Whanganui jobs were down 12.6 per cent in the final quarter of 2015 compared to the same time the previous year, according to Trade Me.
Applications per job were down 5.4 per cent.
On Call Central owner Graeme Musson said current vacancies included jobs for electricians, a drainlayer and an on-call postie.
There were a myriad of different jobs available but not a lot of general labouring roles, he said. A lot of women in the area wanted secretarial, office and reception positions. However, those jobs were lacking.
