An award-winning horticulturist, who has garnered an international reputation, is speaking at a public meeting in Wanganui next week.
Kerei Thompson operates a business called Bark and looks after gardens at some of New Zealand's top locations, including Government House at Wellington and Auckland, the grounds of Parliament, Vogel House, and Auckland's Ayrlies garden.
Mr Thompson will speak at 7.30pm in the Davis Lecture Theatre next Thursday, immediately after the Friends of the Bason Botanic Gardens annual meeting which starts at 7pm.
He will discuss the NZ Garden Trust and its role in tourism and marketing, and how garden visiting can be better promoted in New Zealand. The presentation is free to the public.
Phil Thomsen, secretary of the Bason Botanic Gardens trust board, said it was a rare chance to hear from an award-winning horticulturist.
