Security camera footage from the raid on the castlecliff store

Thieves used a car to smash their way into the Castlecliff Camp Store in Whanganui.

The car - a small red Mazda - was used to smash the roller door at the front of the store, causing significant damage to the shopfront during the burglary on April 18.

Police said four offenders then entered the store and took money from the store counter cash tray.

The Rangiora Street store was not staffed at the time, and no-one was hurt.

The offenders then fled the scene in a light blue Mazda Demio hatchback, which was later located in the reserve on Seafront Road, Whanganui.

Detective Kim Cochrane said police were continuing their investigations and would like to hear from anyone who may have information that could assist them.

Investigators would also like to identify those pictured, as they may be able to assist with inquiries.

CCTV footage is also available on the Central District Police Facebook page.
